Flying Clubs offer the most affordable way to learn to fly; as well as providing greater availability, affordability, and choice in aircraft type than flight schools. They are also the most economical source of aircraft for certified pilots. The quality of the aircraft, as with flight schools, varies from club to club and aircraft to aircraft, but is generally very good. All of the clubs listed below voluntarily perform 100 hour inspections as well as required inspections. Information on the various clubs available in the San Diego area are provided below. FAA Certified Flight Instructors (CFI) are available through these clubs. Some clubs require that their instructors be club members, others do not. In either case, instruction fees charged by independent flight instructors are generally less than flight schools. All CFI's must meet the same FAA standards, regardless of whether they are associated with a flight school or choose to teach independently.  Clubs are listed alphabetically.

I have created this website to tell viewers all about pilot training, flight instruction, and opportunities to learn to fly, either through a pilot school or independent instruction in the San Diego, California area. It is for viewers seeking flying lessons and flying schools, those who want to find flight training information for obtaining a pilot license, and for those who are already pilots.

These pages will also  provide pilots with information about various flying clubs and San Diego flight training sources, as well as providing information about the steps and requirements associated with becoming a pilot.
